eng: The topic of this dissertation is the belief in sorcery in black Africa. The dissertation has two sections. The first two chapters of the first section describe both the remote and immediate context of this belief. The third chapter specifies the consistence of this belief and also describes the actual interpretations (sociological, parapsychological and theological interpretations). The second section, which consists of two chapters, interprets this belief from the perspective of the scapegoat theology based on the theory R.Girard. The aim here is to create a theological base in order to make possible an appropriate pastoral response to the problem of the belief in sorcery. I interpret belief in sorcery as a concrete expression of the hidden will to kill which is active in every human being. The Christian answer to the problem of sorcery in black Africa involves trying to convince the Africans to give up resorting to sorcerers as the confrontation with the sinless Jesus proves that all of us are more or less sorcerers. Any systematic extermination of all sorcery would cause African society to self- destruction.
