Hinges are fragile, particularly the upper hinge.; Decoration: Red ink used for underlining and cross references.; Foliation: Paper, 229; 1-25, 27-99, 102-153, 156-233, 235, contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto; [1-229], modern foliation in pencil, lower right recto. Folios 26, 154-155 appear to have been torn out; there are a few blank folios between sections. First and last gatherings are detached; inside upper corner of last 6 leaves torn away with some loss of text.; French, Italian, German, and Latin, with a few items in Spanish and Dutch.; Ms. codex.; Origin: Possibly written in Germany, 1650-1750.; Script: Written in a cursive script, primarily by one hand.; The date 1650 inside upper cover appears to refer to a printing of Tyrocinium chymicum.; Title supplied by cataloger.; Two contemporary leaves are laid into the text; several printed items are tipped onto inside upper cover and one leaf of text.
